I'm Coach Abby!

Hi, my name is Abigail, most people call me Abby. I am a certified ISR instructor working in the Baltimore/Baltimore County area. I am certified in CPR, first aid, and AED with the American Red Cross. I am also a registered dietitian and work with clients who struggle with eating disorders. I am married and we have a spunky 2-year-old daughter who completed ISR last year.

I have lived around the water my whole life and have always loved swimming, but when I was 2 years old I almost drowned in a pool. Once I had my daughter, I knew I wanted to look into ISR for her because our family is often around water whether it's a pool, river, or ocean. The first time I saw my daughter roll onto her back and float on her own it brought tears to my eyes. My daughter was able to learn life-saving skills at 18 months old and as a parent my own anxiety decreased because I knew if she were in a situation where she fell into a pool or body of water, she would be able to rollback and float until help arrived.
Throughout my daughter's process, it brought back memories of my own experience in a pool as well as my other family members offering stories of their experiences. I knew at that point that I wanted to be a part of ISR.

Throughout my training, it solidified my trust in ISR and the care they take to train Instructors, ensuring that any child that goes through the program will be successful. I loved seeing my daughter go through the program but being a part of the process now, I am even more in awe of the abilities of young children to be able to learn survival skills.
